The first set of Fanda pics are up at SNS - looks like everyone had a great time, and I see lots of familiar faces in there (skaters and fans alike!).

There's a press release out today about a new study finding that short track skaters are at high risk of injury. (I think its main purpose is to drum up publicity for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, which issued the study.)

Announcement from Julia:

MARKET SHORT TRACK SPEEDSKATING

Per special request from the U.S. Speedskating Development, a select group of Short Track Enthusiasts compiled a marketing plan on how U.S. Speedskating can increase its fan base and improve relations with Short Track followers. This comprehensive marketing plan was delivered to Carl Cepuran in March 2003, who then presented the plan at the Annual Board Meeting in April 2003, Anaheim, CA. A few improvements have already taken place at USS.

This mailing list is developed in order for "serious-minded" Short Track Speedskating enthusiasts to view the existing marketing plan and offer additional ideas that can be presented to the U.S. Speedskating's next Annual Board Meeting, April 2004, Saratoga Springs, NY. This mailing list will be opened for a limited time only. A pdf file of the document is offered for viewing and printing only.

Come join and be part of short track history!
