About Apolo...

The Ohno Zone

Short Track

Q: Can you give me Apolo's email address/AIM name/etc?
A: As mentioned before, you can write to Apolo either at the Olympic Training Center where he lives or try the 'contact' link on his official site, ApoloAntonOhno.com.

Apolo Anton Ohno
US Olympic Training Center
One Olympic Plaza
Colorado Springs, CO 80909

Q: Can I go to the training center and visit him?
A: If you're interested in going to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs where Apolo trains, contact the visitors center of the OTC:

United States Olympic Training Center
1 Olympic Plaza
Colorado Springs, CO 80909-5760
TEL: (719) 632-5551
FAX: (719) 866-4654

Q: Do you know where Apolo is staying when he is visiting a particular city?
A: I don't know, and couldn't tell people that info if I did. Keep in mind, we as fans need to respect his space and privacy.

Q: Can you tell me when/if Apolo is coming to my city or state?
A: Rest assured that anytime I hear of Apolo making a public appearance anywhere, I'll post it on OZ. Keep checking back!

Q: Can you make me a copy of video from the Olympics/Ellen/The Tonight Show/etc?
A: Sorry, I have no way to copy videos.

Q: Do you know where I can get items featuring Apolo?
A: Apolo's official store on ApoloAntonOhno.com will be up and running by 3/10/2006, so look for some great items featuring Apolo! I'll be sure to make an announcement when the store launches.

Q: What can you tell us about Apolo's romantic life?
A: Not much. I don't know anything about it and I don't want to speculate. It's up to him if he wants to go public about that. Apolo is a pretty private person and so far he has chosen not to. In addition, any lady in his life also deserves her privacy.

Q: Does Apolo read this site?  Has he ever posted on this site?
A: Apolo has never posted on this site, but as with anything on the internet, we have no idea if he's reading or not.  The OhnoZone does have a wide audience of readers, including skaters, so you never know who's going to be reading what you're saying.

Q: How does seeing short track at the Olympics compare to other events you go to?
A: Overall, the Olympics are a different beast - much larger venue, many more spectators, infinitely more media. For me, that meant I could spend more time just watching the races and enjoying the spectacle because the TV crews and professional photographers and reporters were there. Personally, I saw nothing to be gained by hanging out in the mixed zone (the reporters who did that largely missed the races anyway.) There is nothing like hearing the roar of the crowd at the Olympics and the excitement and energy on the part of spectators and skaters alike are unequalled.

That said, I'd take the intimacy and intensity of a regular old World Cup day in and day out!

Q: Do you have the photo of him from Cosmo or any of his other magazine appearances?
A: Try doing a search on the site (which can be found in the navigation bar on your right).  We've got more than 4 years of archived Apolo appearances - television, signings, magazines and much more!

Q: How do I become a member of the Ohnozone?
A: There's no membership or registration required for Ohno Zone - it's open to everyone.  All you have to do to be part of the community is post and participate in the discussions!

Q: How can I submit articles/pictures/stories for this site?
A: There is an email address to the right where you can send Apolo related info to the Ohno Zone webmasters - noelle[at]ohnozone[dot]net or todd[at]ohnozone[dot]net.

Q: How did Todd and Noelle get involved with running the Ohno Zone site?
A: We were glued to our TVs during the 2002 Games. Todd started posting about Apolo on his blog, which quickly drew so many visitors that he had to make a separate site, which he named Ohno Zone. Over time Noelle became more and more involved with running the site and that cemented her addiction, along with getting to see short track in person for the first time at the end of 2002.

Q: Where can I get info on attending the World Championships in Minneapolis or World Team Championships in Montreal?
A: The World Team Championships will be held in Montreal March 25-26, 2006. Details and ticket info are available on the official WOrld Team Championships web site: www.mondial2006worlds.com

The World Championships will be held in Minneapolis March 31-April 2, 2006. Details and ticket info are available on the official World Championships web site: www.usspeedskating.org/2006WorldShortTrack

Apolo has announced that he will not compete at either event this year.
