Apolo will appear in new anti-doping commercials
I have some exciting news to pass along from Apolo's agents, Heather Novickis and Janey Miller:
Apolo will participate in a national public service announcement (PSA) for the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). He's shooting the commercial this coming Sunday at the World Ice Arena in Colorado Springs.
Background on the PSA:
Clean Sport public service announcements.
USADA, in conjunction with the USOC, is developing four 'Clean Sport' public service announcements featuring Winter Olympic athletes. In the spots, the athletes will promote the importance of ethics, fair play and integrity in sport.
The PSAs will be unveiled at the Olympic Media Summit in October and will be distributed to national television outlets, including NBC, MTV, VH1, ESPN, etc. PSAs featuring summer athletes can be seen on the USADA web site.
In other media, Apolo has already participated in his Olympic profile shoot for NBC; he'll be interviewed by NBC Nightly News in a few weeks. ESPN Magazine and Men's Journal are two other major outlets who are working on Olympic features of Apolo.
So - the excitement begins! Stay tuned as additional high-profile media and sponsor annoucements involving Apolo are expected in the very near future.

Apolo endorses LandRoller Skates
Some of you caught Apolo's appearance this morning on Good Morning America to discuss LandRoller Skates. LandRollers are a new kind of roller skate that he is endorsing -- very different in appearance to the more familiar Rollerblade-style inline skates. I'm not even sure if they can be called 'inline' skates because their design is such a departure from typical inline skates. The innovative LandRollers were named 2005's Sports Product of the Year. Plans are also in the works to develop an Apolo Ohno line of LandRoller skates.
Comment from LandRoller: "We are thrilled to have Apolo on our team. We cannot think of a better endorsement for our products because he's probably the most discriminating skater in the world. From the first time Apolo donned our skates, he loved them. He's a world-class athlete in every way – a world champion, a great role model and an inspiration to us all."
Apolo is also listed as a design consultant on the company's staff page. For more details and photos of Apolo skating on LandRollers, click here.

USA Today names Apolo its athlete of the week for the 2nd time this season
USA Today | Ohno refuses to slow down
He could have coasted through this meet and still won the World Cup title. In short-track speedskating, only four of the six meets count in the season standings, and he had already guaranteed himself an unassailable 199 points out of a possible 200.
But Apolo Anton Ohno didn't settle for anything less than perfect. He won the 1,000 meters and 1,500 meters at Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia, sewing up the season titles in those disciplines as well. He also led the U.S. to a relay win and finished second at 3,000 meters. When the points were added up, Ohno had won top honors on the weekend for the fourth time in six meets this season. That meant he could drop his two second-place finishes in the season standings, leaving him with an unblemished 200 points in the final tally. continue reading
