North American Short Trackers Hard at Work
Fan Karen has posted a report and photos on GotApolo.com from Team Canada's recent training camp in Vancouver. Lots of great stuff there - check it out! Thanks for sharing, Karen!
Meanwhile, the Jayner family sends in these shots of Team USA being put through its paces in Kearns. Sounds like the Oval provides a nice icy refuge from the hot summer sun of Utah. Thanks for checking in and providing us a precious glimpse of our team hard at work!

Cleveland Plain-Dealer | Ohioan trains for Winter Games in L.A.
[Tina Koenig] is a powerful and promising short-track speedskater who turned her life upside down by moving to Los Angeles two months ago. She left the comfortable surroundings of Salt Lake City, where she lived and trained with the U.S. national speedskating team, which also paid her a monthly stipend."I didn't get along with the coaches, and I took the chance and left," she said. "It's probably the hardest decision I've ever had to make in my life."
Koenig, 22, lost her stipend from U.S. Speedskating and is bouncing between the homes of three friends while scraping a living between her job and income from a health drink sponsor, FreeLife.
