Congratulations, Apolo Ohno - World Short Track Champion!!
I can't believe how late to the party I am. Yesterday about 4PM during a freak windstorm I watched three electrical transformers explode within a 5-minute span, and we were without power for the next 17+ hours. Could the timing have possibly been worse?! So it's really exciting to get online and see this awesome news! Congratulations Apolo on your long-deserved world title! We've known your time was coming, and it's made even sweeter by another legendary comeback from adversity on day 1, and by being the best Worlds in memory for Team USA as a whole. Is it 2010 yet!?

Men's overall - 3 Americans in the top 8 - unprecedented!
1. OHNO Apolo Anton USA 68 points

6. HAMELIN Charles CAN 34
7. SIMON Jeff USA 11
8. ZHANG Zhiqiang CHN 6
9. MONETTE Marc-Andre CAN
10. RODIGARI Nicola ITA
Charles Ryan Leveille has been hovering on the edge of a breakthrough in short track for a couple of seasons now, and it looks like that crazy bandana was his magic bullet. Fifth overall! And we all salue you Jeff Simon for not letting a pesky thing like a broken collarbone hold you back.
Women's overall

2. ZHOU Yang CHN 76
3. YANG Shin-Young KOR 37
4. ROBERGE Kalyna CAN 33

12. BAVER Allison USA
All I can say is, way to go, Katherine Reutter! What a year you've had - Allison Baver too, congrats on your strong comeback. I guess these ladies have assured the U.S. of entering 3 women in the individual distances at next year's Worlds to go with the men's 3. And I think everyone knew this would finally be Meng Wang's turn to climb to the top of the podium.
Press roundup - to be updated as more comes in (results would have come in too late for U.S. newspaper deadlines)
