2008 World Championships Day 2 - Apolo wins 500m gold!
Man, these were awesome results to wake up to!
Watch video of the men's 500m final from Korean TV. The commentators got really into it. Thanks to Starangel for the link!

What a great way to bounce back from adversity on day 1 - classic Ohno style! Great to see 2 Americans in the final yet again - looked like Jeff never had a chance to recover from a rocky start. Charles Ryan Leveille in the quarter finals.

Katherine Reutter was eliminated in the semis; Allison Baver in the heats. Canada, it's great to see you up on the men's and women's podium too!
The U.S. men finished second in their relay semifinal behind Korea to qualify for tomorrow's final, where they'll face Korea again, as well as Canada and Russia.

2008 World Championships Day 1
This is a strange short track Worlds this year, without 5-time men's champ Hyun-soo Ahn and 3-times women's champ Sun-yu Jin around to defend their crowns (on their home ice no less - best wishes to them both for a complete recovery).

Some news:
Loads of photos via Yahoo News This is one of the weirder short track photos I've seen in a while:

Can someone please explain what the bandit-on-skates look is all about?
