Junko's SLC Photos
Here's some of Junko's feel-good comments on her photos (thanks for sharing them with us!):
Podium pictures are all taken with digital focus. Blurry a bit. I liked Apolo's orange color shirt. It's uplifting.
Reutter had a beautiful bouquet awarded and a stalk from the flower cast a shadow on her cheek. She still looks good.
At some point in my skate-watching life, I try not to have pictures taken with skaters. Instead I try to take their pictures. With a strong suggestion and support of Jan and Tiggie, I got a few pictures taken in SLC. When Jan suggests to have a picture taken with skaters, it usually comes out fun. Look at F. Hamelin making a face for the camera or to the person who took this photo. I felt very heavy around my neck first and on the right shoulder when I was standing, looking at the camera, awaiting for the moment. I said, "you must be kidding" to myself by glancing at the boot on the right. Jokester, Marc Andre!
This picture would answer the question who asked about the heights. Jean Francois told he had a concussion after the first fall on 500m. No wonder he looked disoriented after pulling himself up to continue the competition. It's good he managed to smile for the picture. I saw J F Monette in SLC five years ago with Scholten and Blackburn in an Italian restaurant near Hilton downtown. Blackburn retired a few years ago, so did Scholten recently. Those memories make me feel I have been watching speed skating for a long time.
Looks like someone had a lot of fun at World Cup 6!
