USS update

Salt Lake Tribune | No funding available: USOC waiting for U.S. Speedskating to get new leadership

Apparently the long trackers in SLC won't have any ice for a while (the short trackers thankfully have ice to train on in Colorado Springs):

The plan had been to install ice on the Kearns speedskating oval by Saturday to give elite speedskaters some summer training before next winter's World Cup schedule.

But it now appears the Utah Olympic Oval will remain without ice well into August because U.S. Speedskating is in disarray and the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) will not give it any funding until a new leadership team and coaching staff are intact.

As the article notes, USS expects to name a new Executive Director very soon (aiming for the end of next week). I don't know the situation with long track, but after the new ED is in place, the search committee will focus on filling the positions for short track program director and short track national coach. With luck, the positions will be staffed in the next month or so.
