'Hottest athlete in a unitard'
Haha... It's called a skinsuit, people! Anyway, thanks to Melissa, who was thumbing through Cosmo Girl at the dentist's office recently when she came across this Editor's Kiss award to AAO.

KCTS Connects podcast
You can listen to a podcast of Apolo's appearance on the Seattle public TV program 'KCTS Connects.' So far video of this appearance has not shown up on the show's web site but the audio at least is available (thanks to Sonia for the link!).

Rattling the tip jar
Hey everyone - The repairs to bring OZ back from the dead represent money very well spent, but they cost a pretty penny and we're facing additional expenditures to upgrade the site in the near future. If anyone who is inclined to help defray these costs, we'll be grateful to accept any and all donations (and we remain very thankful to all who have donated at various times in the previous 4+ years).
To donate by credit card, just hit the 'Donate' button in the upper right (note: Todd has updated the Paypal link so it's working now). Please contact me for info on how to donate by check or money order. Thanks for all the support -- moral, financial and otherwise!

Hi everyone! OZ status update
*big, huge sigh of relief*
Looks like OZ is back... There is still some work to be done but I just wanted to get us to the point where I could start updating again and where comments would be working. More info on some of the difficulties we experienced in the entry below this one.
Thanks everyone for your patience... hope there a few readers still out there! Lol. This has been a long nightmare and OZ would not have been resurrected without the invaluable help of Movable Type consultant Dave Aiello, who resolved the problems that the Movable Type people and Apollo hosting couldn't or wouldn't figure out how to fix.
We're going to need to upgrade in the near future but I just wanted to take a little breather from all that stuff to post some new content for everyone.

Back in the land of the living
Is this thing on?!
Things aren't normal just yet, but we're back from the brink! Turns out that half my database just up and vanished from the server and that caused all the problems. (How does that happen? I think the hosting company did something crazy without telling us.)
Anyway, all the content and all the comments are still here! There is still work to be done.
Known issues:
- after you post a comment, the index page loads in the comment window rather than the comments FIXED!
- category archives are lost so I will have to go back through 4,307 entries posted and re-assign them manually. Just give me a year or three. in progress
- comment links on category pages are broken FIXED!
- archives list is displaying 4 years' worth of weekly archives rather than just current year FIXED!
Let me know if you notice anything else funky!
P.S. My comment spam control feature also vanished and OZ is being bombarded (literally dozens of spam messages a minute at times). For now, the only way to control this is turning comments off. When they are turned off, you will see 'internal server error' when clicking on comments. FIXED!
