Screengrabs from the 5000m relay that just took place in Russia - USA won their heat. Sorry for the poor image quality. That's Apolo skating in the first two, followed by Shani (in the middle) who did some awesome passing, and Apolo just after finishing his anchor laps and crossing the finish line.

Special thanks to all of you who so generously responded to our request for donations to keep the good old OZ operating smoothly. Extra special thanks to our Noelle for her tireles efforts & a well-deserved international adventure! So kids, Todd's coming back to the front page here...lol...I hope I remember how to do this... < wink >

Here are a some great finds from Popular Photography and SI for Kids magazines, submitted by Addi

Popular Photography apparently has a regular feature called "Your Best Shot" where readers submit their photos for a monthly contest. In March 2002 the second place photo was of short track speedskaters.

Popular Photography, March 2002

Skating away: At a practice session for the 2002 USA Olympic Short Track Speedskating team in Colorado Springs, Tony Avelar of Santa Clara, California mounted his Canon EOS1N and 20mm f/2.8 Canon lens on a minitable tripod, left the rig on the ice, and photographed these skaters with a PocketWizard wireless system (while he stood 20 feet away).

In May, they ran the photo again with a paragraph explaining why it turned out to be so meaningful.

I have now taken down Rite Aid Clip #4, "The Lifestyle I Chose." If you missed it, let me know and I will e-mail it to you.
Note: This is a large clip of over 3MB which means I can't send it to certain e-mail addresses (namely, Yahoo and Hotmail).
