from Megan

Todd, if no one else has submitted it yet, here is the transcript of Apolo's visit to the NYSE this morning. The transcript is as follows: "Reporter: I'm Bill Tucker on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Joining me now is speedskater Apolo Ohno. Apolo having the honor of ringing the opening bell this morning. You know, not that there's any connection or anything, but, Apolo, you show up, we get a big sharp nice rally in the market today. How did it feel ringing the opening bell? Apolo: Oh, just being able to come here, the experience I've been having -- having a great rally is just incredible. The energy here is incredible. It's an experience for me. Reporter: Yeah, you know, I've always wondered what does it feel like when you ring that bell -- to look out over all that sea of people and to have all of that stuff happening? Apolo: I'm just trying to, you know, imagine over 100 million people watching it, you know. It's amazing, it really is. Reporter: I know it sounds stupid but how does it compare to an Olympic experience? Apolo: It's a different kind of energy, you know. I mean, at the Olympics, you know, it was all true to heart but this also is so intense and just so electrifying. Walking around and feeling the energy and the focus here -- never I would have thought I'd ever be able to come here. Reporter: Yeah, it is a pretty awesome feeling. And I gotta ask you about a couple of other things -- got any plans to attend the World Cup? Apolo: Definitely. You know, I've gotta start training pretty soon, get my body ready eventually at the end of this month, so it should be good. But hopefully I can get back on the circuit. Reporter: How does it feel to be the most unwelcome visitor to Korea? I gotta ask you that one, too. Apolo: I don't know. You know, I heard about that. That's unfortunate. You know, I just go out there and skate my best. But I'm not really focused on that. I'm just having a great time, enjoying my success, and hopefully, I can look forward to bringing more of my excellence to my sport. Reporter: Well, it never struck me as a you issue. It always struck me you didn't make the call, you didn't make the decision. You just went out there and strapped on those skates and skated the ice. It was a refereeing decision, not an Apolo Ohno one. Apolo: Right, exactly, exactly. Reporter: What's next for you? Where can we look for you next and what's next in your life as you start to move on here? Apolo: Uh, a lot more events and a lot of appearances. I would love going into the entertainment business but after being here, I don't know, it's very tempting to be able to come here and this is . . . I like this a lot. But, you know, definitely my love right now is skating and that's my heart and so, you know, I'm going to keep pursuing it and try to be the best skater I can be. Reporter: Can you pursue and actually make a good living at being a skater because it comes from endorsement contracts or how does it work for you? Apolo: I think it's quite possible, you know. I'm always looking for the positive end; if I'm able to market myself well, get myself with the right companies, and then, I think -- because there's no limits definitely. Reporter: Have you been seeing endorsement contracts come in? Apolo: Well, they're coming in. You know, definitely, Janie Miller at IMG, she's been working her butt off for me. It's great, I need somebody like that, and just having a good support staff around me to be able to conceive ideas and just kind of go around and attract different companies. So, you know, I'm definitely open, for sure. Reporter: All right. So the people from Yahoo can call you if they want, is that right? (Laughing) Apolo: (Laughing) That's right. Call me -- (unintelligible) . . . your stock goes up. Reporter: There you go -- terrific. Thank you very much for taking the time to be our guest. Appreciate it. Apolo: Thank you. Reporter: We're speaking with Apolo Ohno, America's speedskater."

I thought this might help all of the girls that go to your site everyday religiously! This is from www.geocities.com/apoloantonohno/ You should post this! then others can add to the list!

You Know You're an Apoloholic If... The word "definitely" is a major part of your vocabulary. You set your alarm clock for odd times of the night to watch shows he's on. You find yourself biting your lips and wearing bandanas. You have ever taken a picture with a "soul patch" on. You think Apolo with two l's (Apollo) looks weird. You want to learn Japanese, even though you're not sure if he speaks any. You have a tape labeled "Apolo" and nothing else. You have an entire section on your computer for Apolo pictures, articles, video files, etc. You've been through over 100 magazines looking for a "Swoosh" ad. Your computer desktop is ALL Apolo--wallpaper, screensaver, icons, etc. You want Katie Couric's job. You want to go to Seattle just to get your hair cut. You draw Olympic rings on everything. You laugh every time someone says "Oh, no". Your favorite number is 369, 149, or some number with "9" in it. You have ever spent $3 dollars for only four paragraphs (PEOPLE, March 11, 2002) Hey...there were two pictures! You always use "you know" between 2-3 words. You looked for hours on the net trying to find a video interview with Apolo and Katie. You actually sat through an hour of QVC to gawk at Apolo. Your AIM Icon has Apolo on it (btw, there are some on this site. Click here .). You check for new info, pics, articles, and video on the internet more than 2 times a day. You buy a $150 pair of Mojo sunglasses from the Sunglass Hut because Apolo styles them. You catch yourself saying "for sure." You stay late up night to search for different sites for Apolo. You want to have a copy or trade tapes of Apolo from friends in the internet and don't care how much it costs. You have pictures of him all over your walls. You are so dismayed if you found out that Apolo is not on TV. You have pictures of Apolo from newspaper clippings. You want to learn or try break dancing cuz you know Apolo dances it. You found yourself wearing a bandana and imagined it actually looked good on you. You have something to do with Apolo written on everything you own. You talk to your friends about Apolo and they look at you strangely and say "whatever...the Olympics are over!" You find yourself pushing your hair out of your face w/ your hand, even though your hair is already pulled back. You have a collage of him all over your assignment book...

from Brooke and Sarah

Brooke and I found out from a friend that Apolo
was going to appear on Good Day Atlanta, so we decided it would be worth
missing some school even if we just caught a glimpse of him. so we show up
at fox early only to find out they dont have any audience, and we couldnt
hang out there, so we decided to see if we could catch him at the radio
station down the street, we got there and the information guy said we could
go on up. When we got to the top it was deserted, we didnt quite know what to
do, so we asked a guy that stepped off the elevator, and he said to just
wait, b/c any guest in the station would have to come out the door in front
of us!! about a minute later he comes walking out the door and went for the
elevator, b/c he was running to get to fox, he invited us on the elevator and
one the people with him said he was in a hurry and wouldnt have time for an
autograph, but she would take a picture for us!! we got beside him and he
put his arms around us, and we willingly did the same:) our elevator ride
was over and he hopped in his car and drove away hurriedly. we were soo
excited, we went and got our film developed and found out that he would be at
the Cobb Galleria that night so we decided to go to it later.--boring part of
the day at school--then it was time to go to the art gallery! we arrived and
were totally exhausted and we had walked around for about an hour and a half,
and decided to sit down before we fell asleep walking around,(maybe we should
have taken some of the champagne offered to us) anyways, we got up to see if
he had arrived yet, and found out we had missed most of the autographs but we
got really close and got some good pics, he disappeared into a vip room for a
while and came out in time for the presentation, we got a couple of good
pictures during that! after the presentation, he was escorted off the stage,
and our little crowd began to follow, he stopped for some pictures, and even
though the guy with him told him that he couldnt sign any autographs, he was
really nice and stood there and signed them all!!!! it was then time for him
to leave:( (but we loved to watch him go:P) we even got to ride down the
escalator behind him on the way out to our car! so that was our exciting day!
we have included some of our pictures, if she puts the one up with us in it,
excuse my ugliness(the redhead) and the others dont look as good on the
computer as they do in real life, i'm really sorry, but that cant be helped!!
there will be other pictures up later on her website, and we will write back
with the link!
